Skipton Venue For Beef Expo 2007 11/09/06
Beef Expo 2007, will be held at Skipton Auction Mart in Yorkshire, courtesy
of the Craven Cattle Marts Group, on Thursday, May 17, 2007.
This annual event, organised by the National Beef Association and held at
a different venue each year, is now firmly established as the major technical
event for the UK beef industry and attracts thousands of beef producers from
all over the country and overseas.
The 2007 event will follow the successful format developed over recent years
and will include an extensive trade stand area, beef breed demonstrations,
commercial cattle show, educational and advisory exhibits, practical demonstrations
of livestock machinery and a comprehensive seminar programme. The theme chosen
for the event is "Action for Profit".
On the day before Beef Expo, visitors will have the opportunity of viewing
four prominent Yorkshire beef farms followed by a pre-event conference and
dinner.
"We see no reason to change the basic format which has been fine-tuned
over the years and has proved highly successful," said event organiser,
Euan Emslie. "But we are constantly looking for innovative new ideas
to make Beef Expo even more relevant and worthwhile for beef producers at
a time of constant change in the industry."
Skipton Mart is an ideal venue for the event with an auction ring which
can quickly be transformed into a conference auditorium with highly sophisticated
sound and lighting systems.
The organisation of the event is in the hands of a local committee under
the chairmanship of leading Limousin breeder, Jim Bloom, Decoy Farm, Scorborough,
Driffield - who is also chairman of the technical committee of the British
Limousin Cattle Society - with Aberdeen-Angus breeder, Henry Rowntree, Windy
Pike, Carter's Lane, Gisburn, Clitheroe, Lancashire, as vice-chairman.
