Fancy the chance of winning £10,000 by entering one of your bulls in a novel stockjudging competition? That is the carrot being tangled before pedigree breeders at Beef Expo 2010 to be held at Hexham Auction Mart on Thursday, May 27.

Bulls will be judged by the public and the winner will take home the bull attracting the most votes while the owner of the bull lifts the £10,000 cash prize.

The entry fee is £500 (you could get it sponsored) but the odds are highly attractive – a one-in-16 chance of winning the top prize if the competition attracts 16 entries (the minimum the organisers are looking for). And for that breeders get the opportunity of presenting their bulls to a large and influential audience

But even if you don’t win, you will still have the opportunity of selling your bull by auction on the day at an event which expects to draw an audience of 5000 from all over the country.

Beef Expo 2011 Heading for Newark

Next year’s national beef event, Beef Expo 2011, will be held at Newark Showground in Nottinghamshire on Thursday, May 26.
